Continuing a trend among industrial suppliers, another South Korea-based supplier has opted to establish its U.S. headquarters in Round Rock.

This choice underscores the influx of businesses converging on the area to meet the demands of tech manufacturers, such as Samsung Semiconductor Austin in Taylor.

The overview

iMarket America Inc.—the U.S. division of iMarketKorea—is a maintenance, repair and operations company that also provides industrial material distribution. The company has primarily served Samsung Electronics, according to an announcement at a Feb. 29 Round Rock Chamber event.

“We aim to redefine the ‘Samsung Effect,’” IMA Executive Vice President In-cheol Kim said in a news release. “Our goal is to foster a large-scale industrial cluster, develop a state-of-the-art logistics center and facilitate global logistics services.”

The Round Rock Chamber is also looking to make the city a prominent semiconductor hub by offering a business-friendly environment to attract global companies, according to the news release.

During a recent trip to Seoul, South Korea, chamber staff engaged with roughly 150 South Korean companies. Jordan Robinson, president and CEO of the Round Rock Chamber, said the recruitment of another supplier, MSS International, was a direct result of the chamber’s visit and efforts.

“IMA’s decision to select Round Rock for its U.S. headquarters reflects the city’s growing reputation as a premier destination for businesses seeking a dynamic and supportive environment,” Robinson said. “We welcome IMA to our community and look forward to collaborating with them as they contribute to the rapidly growing region.”
