Liberty Hill

The City of Liberty Hill offers a relaxing small town atmosphere with easy access to services and activities that might be found only in larger cities.  Liberty Hill is strategically located in “the hub” of activities – arts & culture, wineries, live music, great shopping, local eateries, outstanding academics and athletics program, youth sports, outdoor activities, parks and more!  Newcomers will find Liberty Hill to be both charming and friendly, with a VISION toward the future.  Liberty Hill is also beautiful pasture land, rolling hills, cliffs overlooking the San Gabriel River, hiking trails and safe neighborhoods.

Liberty Hill Independent School District is among the highest ranked school districts in the Central Texas area.  Elementary, middle and intermediate education is conducted in state-of-the-art facilities.  LHISD has highly qualified staff, with the student / teacher ratio being one of the lowest in the State.  A newly constructed Liberty Hill High School with Panther Stadium was completed in 2013 along with renovations and updates to the elementary and middle schools.  Liberty Hill is proud of its Athletics Department which includes several Championships.  The school district spreads over 100 square miles, is located entirely within Williamson County and recognized by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) as a “Recognized, Character Plus” District.

Locals are near art galleries, wineries, museums, live theater and fine eateries when residing in Liberty Hill.  The Liberty Hill Public Library, “Heart of the Hill Library”, is a community learning center and place of enrichment through information, education and recreation.  The Liberty Hill Library has more than 15,000 books and has programs for all ages throughout the year.

“I’d like to thank the LHEDC for their support of our Sculpture Celebration from idea to reality.  The EDC has impacted the cultural arts growth and future vision of Liberty Hill by providing financial support to the 40th Celebration of our International Sculpture Garden.  This Celebration included educational lessons and demonstrations for our school students, public support and awareness of a historical event (1976 International Sculpture Symposium in which Liberty Hill gained State and National Recognition for Support of the Arts in a small community), conservation and restoration efforts, interactive activities, artisan displays and food vendors. We look forward to more partnerships with the LHEDC!”

“The Liberty Hill Economic Development Corporation Facade Grant was a huge incentive for us to begin the process of rehabilitation on our building.  While there is work still to do, the LHEDC put the revitalization of downtown in motion.  In fact, it put enough of a stimulus in place that it gave us the will and opportunity to purchase a second property next door.  A Facade Grant was issued on that building which helped us replace windows, doors, paint, lighting, and stone work.  We leased the second building to a cafe which had increased the foot traffic downtown by at least 5 fold.  Sidewalk improvements, park improvements, and strategic planning are all playing a role in the resuscitation of our charming downtown community.  I would encourage property owners in downtown to investigate working with the Liberty Hill Economic Development Corporation.  With Unity comes Community!”
