Global Fortune 500 technology company to bring hundreds of jobs, $85M in capital investment
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS – Oct. 27, 2025 – PEGATRON Corporation, a globally recognized leader in artificial intelligence computing services, has acquired a 168,784-square-foot facility in Georgetown, Texas. This location will be the Taiwan-based company’s first manufacturing facility in the United States.
“Texas is a global leader when it comes to advanced tech and AI,” said Adriana Cruz, Executive Director of the Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office, within the Office of the Governor. “I congratulate PEGATRON on their first U.S. manufacturing site and thank them for selecting Texas for this significant investment. As the No. 1 U.S. destination for foreign direct investment, Texas welcomes innovative global companies like PEGATRON to our flourishing business ecosystem. The location of this project will make a lasting impact on Texas’ growing tech infrastructure, while reinforcing the power of the ‘Made in Texas’ brand.”
PEGATRON is a globally recognized design, manufacturing, and service provider that engages in the research, development, design, manufacturing, maintenance services of information, communications, and consumer electronics. PEGATRON’s products include notebooks, desktop personal computers, motherboards, video graphics arrays, cable modems, set-top boxes, smartphones, game consoles, tablet personal computers, automotive electronics, and smart home devices.
“We are thrilled to inaugurate this state-of-the-art manufacturing facility,” PEGATRON Vice President Charles Lin said. “This significant step allows PEGATRON to move forward with providing our customers better solutions and services in U.S.”
Several agencies worked together on the PEGATRON project, including the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Opportunity Austin, the Governor’s Office of Economic Development & Tourism, and the Austin Regional Manufacturing Association. Opportunity Austin began recruitment efforts for PEGATRON in December 2024, ultimately submitting 12 sites from the Austin area for its potential home.
“The global technology manufacturing industry is evolving rapidly as companies look to strengthen supply chains and bring advanced production closer to their customers,” Opportunity Austin CEO Ed Latson said. “Pegatron’s decision to establish its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Georgetown highlights the Austin region’s growing role as a hub for high-tech manufacturing.”
The manufacturing facility will be located in the Blue Springs development, 610 Blue Springs Blvd., in Georgetown. Construction is expected to start before Dec. 31, 2025.
PEGATRON has committed to investing a minimum of $35 million in capital expenses in Georgetown and plans to hire hundreds of employees in high-tech jobs at the Georgetown facilities—100 of which must be filled within the first three years.
“We are honored PEGATRON has selected Georgetown for its first U.S. manufacturing site,” Georgetown Mayor Josh Schroeder said. “The jobs and investment this corporation is bringing to Georgetown mark a milestone in our community’s economic growth. Their decision to put down roots here will have a lasting, positive impact on our community and the broader region for generations.”
The City of Georgetown and Williamson County are considering approval of performance-based economic development agreements in exchange for PEGATRON’s commitment to capital investments and job creation. These agreements will go to the Georgetown City Council and Williamson County Commissioners Court for approval.
“We are excited to welcome PEGATRON to Williamson County,” County Judge Steve Snell said. “Williamson County is gaining an international reputation as the place to launch and expand a company in the technology manufacturing industry. PEGATRON’s commitment to our county will have a lasting impact on jobs not just for our generation, but also for our children.”
