Electronics manufacturer Pegatron Corp. has secured more performance-based incentives for its 169,000-square-foot manufacturing site in Georgetown.

Texas-based subsidiary Pegatron Technologies LLC on Jan. 6 was unanimously approved by the Williamson County Commissioners Court for the agreement that will help the company move into the building it purchased in October in the Blue Springs Business Park at 610 Blue Springs Blvd. The company has earmarked the space to establish its first factory in the United States.

Pegatron is required to make a minimum of $35 million in capital investment at the site per the terms of the agreement, which was codenamed “Project Saturn Rings” in economic development discussions. It must start construction by March 31 and complete improvements within 14 months of the start date, according to the agreement. The company is required to create 100 full-time jobs within the third year of the certificate of occupancy and maintain that for the full length of the 10-year agreement.

In return, Williamson County will abate 30% of the assessed value of the land and improvements and tangible personal property for 10 consecutive years, according to the agreement. That only applies to the portion of assessed value that exceeds the base year of 2025.

Pegatron is a Taiwanese Fortune Global 500 electronics contract manufacturer with more than 100,000 employees worldwide, focused on artificial intelligence computing services for clients like Dell Technologies Inc., Tesla Inc. and Apple Inc. It does design, manufacturing, research, development and more. Its products include notebooks, desktop personal computers, motherboards, video graphics arrays, cable modems, set-top boxes, smartphones, game consoles, tablet personal computers, automotive electronics and smart home devices.

“Attracting advanced technology manufacturing to the United States strengthens our national security and economic resilience,” County Judge Steve Snell said in a statement. “Williamson County and Texas are leading the way in building a more secure and reliable supply chain for the future.”

Pegatron has been tied to the Austin area for months. The Austin Business Journal reported in June that it was looking at sites in Williamson County. Then, the company in August noted in a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation that it intended to launch a $20 million tenant finish out project at the site, including architecture, plumbing, mechanical and electrical upgrades.

“We are thrilled to inaugurate this state-of-the-art manufacturing facility,” Pegatron Vice President Charles Lin previously said in a statement. “This significant step allows Pegatron to move forward with providing our customers better solutions and services” in the U.S.

Pegatron has been maneuvering to expand its manufacturing footprint in the United States amid the Trump administration’s import tariffs as it aims to expand its hold on the artificial intelligence supply chain, according to several published news reports.

Opportunity Austin began recruitment efforts for the company in December 2024. It submitted 12 sites in the Austin area for a potential location. Representatives of Pegatron toured multiple cities in Williamson County, as well as others in Texas, sources previously told the ABJ.

Several other economic development agencies worked on the project, including the city of Georgetown, Williamson County, the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and Tourism, and the Austin Regional Manufacturing Association.

Dave Porter, Williamson County Economic Development Partnership’s executive director, said during the Jan. 6 meeting that the company was interested in the county because of Dell, which is headquartered in Round Rock. They looked at sites all the way up I-35 from Waco to San Antonio. He added that the second visit came in March, and then they went silent while navigating the impacts of tariffs before returning later in the year and selecting Georgetown.

Cameron Goodman, Georgetown’s economic development director, added that the company will likely create hundreds of jobs, with the bulk of the hiring being done locally. The company has already been a great partner in workforce development, he said, as it has met with educational entities to get kids into such programs.

“These are just new career pathways that probably would not have existed three or four years ago,” Goodman said.

The Georgetown City Council in December provided a 10-year tax abatement for 50% of business personal property and 50% of real property above the base year established in 2025, according to city documents. That was estimated at $259,519.

That’s also contingent on certain performance-based incentives, such as a minimum of $35 million in capital investment at this location and a minimum of 100 new full-time employees within the first three years of operations, according to the documents. The company is also required to commence construction on the site by March 31, although officials have previously said construction is expected to begin by Dec. 31.

Georgetown has a population of about 101,000 and is 30 miles north of Austin.

“The jobs and investment this corporation is bringing to Georgetown mark a milestone in our community’s economic growth,” Georgetown Mayor Josh Schroeder previously said in a statement. “Their decision to put down roots here will have a lasting, positive impact on our community and the broader region for generations.”

Pegatron reported revenue of $35 billion in 2025, along with net profit of $525.5 million — up from $507.9 million the year prior, according to Forbes. However, revenue was down slightly from $37.8 billion a year earlier due to what it has previously described as “soft-end market demand” amid geopolitical issues that have impacted the supply chain.
