Two South Korea-based Samsung suppliers have announced they will establish their U.S. headquarters in Round Rock.

MSS International, a supplier of gas sensors and piping, and iMarket America, a maintenance, repair and operations company, announced the move in December and February, respectively. Officials from each company said they chose the city because of its closeness to the Samsung plant in Taylor

Round Rock Chamber President Jordan Robinson said in a news release that the companies’ decision shows how the city has become a “premier destination for businesses” and a hub for the semiconductor industry. There are approximately a dozen semiconductor suppliers in the city, officials said.

Round Rock Chamber officials said the city will play a vital role in shaping the future of the industry. Robinson said each company will bring 10 to 15 new jobs to the city. The chamber expects the number will grow as the city does.

“Both of the companies’ move signifies the large-scale industrial tech and innovation coming to the region,” Robinson told the American-Statesman. “The rapidly growing need for manufacturing companies and the strategic decision to locate new headquarters here speak to the area’s advantages of its central location with proximity to an intentionally growing semiconductor industry as well as ease of streamlining development and expansion due to its supportive and business-friendly environment.”

MSS International President Min Jung Kim said Round Rock was a perfect location for the headquarters because of its business-friendly environment,

“We are very glad to be one of the pioneering companies from the South Korean semiconductor industry to establish ourselves here,” he said in a news release.

In-cheol Kim, executive vice-president of iMarket America, said the move is a step forward as it seeks to expand its business in the United States. He said the company is seeking to “establish a large-scale industrial cluster” to support Samsung’s new fabrication plant in Taylor.

iMarket America is at 810 Hesters Crossing Rd Unit 205. MSS International will be at 3000 Joe Dimaggio Blvd.

“Our decision to move our headquarters to Round Rock underscores our commitment to fostering industrial growth and innovation in the region,” said Chief Operation Executive Inbong Nam. “We are excited to contribute to the development of Samsung’s growing presence in the region and to leverage the strategic advantages of Round Rock as we expand our operations.”

Established in 2012, iMarket America primarily serves Samsung Electronics and is an active contributor in the creation of the plant in Taylor.
