How has your career developed and changed over time?
In 2007, I left my home in a very rural Eastland, Texas, to begin my professional career as a public relations and marketing executive at a New York City-based agency that specializes in tourism and economic development. Though I began my career with little to no understanding of what economic development means, I quickly realized my passion in working on behalf of cities, metros, states and even countries to help them attract new investment and create jobs for their communities.
How do you support the next generation of women leaders?
Under my leadership, we launched the first Round Rock Young Professionals Network that is meant to identify and grow young leaders in our community. In addition, I serve as a mentor for the Texas Economic Development Council where I work to meet, encourage and support the next generation of female economic developers.
